TRANSPORT STOP PRESS - A meeting with the Chairman of East Coast took place in May and was very fruitful. The proposed East Coast timetable for 2011 has been revised in accordance with our requests, improving the morning journeys to London. The East Coast contingent took away our views on the evening portion of the timetable, particularly journeys to Newark from London, and suggested that our proposals seemed eminently achievable. We recently met with the MD of East Midlands Trains and had an interesting and fruitful discusssion about the Lincoln-Newark-Nottingham line. The details of the meeting can be viewed here. It is anticipated that the Action Group will now work to bring together key stakeholders in respect of the line to provide a powerful voice in discussions with, amongst others, the Office of the Rail Regulator. In the meantime, Bob Poynter, the Action Group's Transport Advisor, has put together a detailed response to the Office of the Rail Regulator's Draft Route Utilisation Strategy. You can read the response by clicking here. We have formed the Lincoln-Nottingham Stakeholder's Board and they held their first meeting in Nottingham on 12th November. The minutes of the meeting can be viewed here. *NEW* PLANNING MATTERS The Action Group is now revising its Planning Policy to inform every decision that we take on planning matters in Newark. The revised policy has been drafted by Richard Atkinson and Bill Davidson and can be viewed by clicking here. We are looking for people's views and we would ask you to read through the documents and either pass on your views to a member of the Action Group during a club meeting or email us here.
